Pastor Lee and Gidget Athey William Bryce Swayin' Stadium

If you have ever sat in the East Stands at Williams Bryce during a Gamecock football game, then you have probably felt the stands sway when the fans are excited. Some say the stands will move by at least a foot. All I know is it would make my stomach feel queasy. William Bryce Swayin' Stadium

The East stands were built in 1983 and shock absorbers were added in 1987 to help control the swaying but fans still say, “If It Ain't Swayin', We Ain't Playin'.”

I don’t know about you but I like a building with a firm foundation. Jesus said, “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.”

We need a firm foundation on which to build our lives. There’s only One who can provide that stable, solid Rock we need—Jesus Christ. He alone can hold us steady through every evil attack and storm of life.

We sing a song in church called, “Cornerstone.” Part of the song goes like this:

When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Savior's love
Through the storm
He is Lord
Lord of all
He is Lord
Lord of all, Christ alone

My prayer for you today is that your anchor will hold through the storms of life and it will if you anchor to Jesus Christ.

Let us pray!

Blessings,

Pastor Lee & Gidget Athey
