Pastor Lee and Gidget Athey Undercover Boss

In just a few days, we will be celebrating the greatest event in human history, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. To get our minds and hearts ready for that day, I want to turn your attention to Philippians 2:5-11 because it so beautifully describes what Jesus did for us.

5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. 6 Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. 7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, 8 he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. 9 Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Undercover Boss

I don’t know if we can ever fully appreciate what Jesus did for us when He stepped down from heaven and came to earth. Have you ever seen the TV show called Undercover Boss?

In the show, bosses of chain businesses go undercover to their own stores in various locations and see how the business operates from the lowest levels. Jesus was the ultimate undercover boss. To realize what He went through and what He was willing to do for us, is mind blogging.

Think about it! Your Creator, God Almighty stepped down and came to earth to rescue you and I. To do that meant, He would not be praised but humiliated and die like a common criminal.

What an example for us! In a day and age where everyone seems to have rights, Jesus laid down His rights to come to save us. Jesus believed that the plan of the Father was more important than His rights.

None of us wants to go through a pandemic but during this time we are being asked to lay down our rights for others. May we follow Jesus’ example.

Let us pray!

Blessings,

Pastor Lee & Gidget Athey
