Pastor Lee and Gidget AtheyThe High Rise View

God says in Joel 2:28,

“I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and daughters shall prophesy.”

What does that word prophesy mean? Will Cleveland has a simple definition. Prophecy means seeing and declaring things from God’s perspective. The High Rise View

My heart goes out to New York City. Last year at this time, we were in Manhattan. I can’t help but remember all the tall buildings. As a visitor it was hard to have a real perspective of the city when we first arrived. Because all I could do was look down the street and all I saw were tall buildings.

But once we checked into our hotel, we took the elevator to the top floor and then we could see the city better. As long as I was on ground level everything looked so big. But when I got to a much higher level everything came into perspective.

Right now, those without Christ are on ground level and in the middle of this crisis everything looks so big. All their problems their own safety, and the safety of their family and friends, their job situations, their worries, and their fears.

All these things are like tall buildings. They are in desperate need of seeing things from God’s perspective. God has anointed you by His Holy Spirit to speak from His perspective. We do that by not responding by the way the world does with fear but with faith. We respond with putting our faith in God and that is the message that those without Christ need to hear.

Let us pray!

Blessings,
