One of my favorite TV shows is Strange Inheritance. Jamie Colby, the host, introduces you each week to a family who has inherited something strange. Some of the strange things people have inherited on the show include a pair of Levi jeans from the 1800’s that have never been worn, George Washington’s wallet, a ghost town in Colorado with a gold mine, an alligator farm, and a B-52 Bomber. The family is left with trying to decide whether to sell the inheritance or keep it.
Did you know that Jesus left something for you and I to inherit? Right now so many people would like to have it. I guarantee that you would not want to sell it if you have. It is found in John 14:27 see if you can find it.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Jesus left as our inheritance the peace of God. The peace of God is different than the peace of the world. The peace of the world only comes when everything in life is perfect. When I am at the beach with a good book then I can have the peace of the world.
But the peace of God is mine no matter the situation. When l am in the middle of the storm, God whispers, “It is okay. I got you. I am not going to leave you or forsake you. You are mine.”
