Pastor Lee and Gidget Athey Power Up

Technology sure has come a long way. We have iWatches, iPhones, Laptops, and computers. But here is the thing, they all need a power source. They will not work without a battery or an outlet.

Yesterday, I talked about how God wants us to be the light in the dark world we live in right now. The only way we can be the light is we must be connected to our power source, Jesus Christ. Power Up

Psalm 28:7

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him.

God has all the power we need. But God is not going to force His power on you. It is your responsibility to spend time with Him to receive the power you need to be the light of the world.

In 1982, The Dallas Cowboys were playing the San Francisco 49er’s. The mighty Dallas Cowboys were winning the game 27-21. With less than 5 minutes to play, Joe Montano rolled to his right and with three Cowboys charging him threw a pass into the back of the end zone. And out of nowhere came Dwight Clark jumping up to make what became known as “The Catch.”

The 49er’s won the playoff game and went on to win the Superbowl and end the Dallas Cowboys Dynasty. The point is the ball was there but Dwight Clark had to jump up and catch the ball.

You are in a war. Let me say it another way, you are in a spiritual conflict. You are on the field and you are playing against an enemy who wants to defeat you. The power you need for victory, God wants to give it to you but you need to reach up and grab hold of it. Just like Dwight Clark reached up and grabbed the ball out of the air. Prayer is how you reach up and grab hold of Heaven’s power down to Earth in your life.

God has given up everything we need for victory today, we just need to reach up and the things of God today.

Let us pray!

Blessings,

Pastor Lee & Gidget Athey
