The times, we are living in call for a great deal of perseverance. The dictionary says that perseverance is persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
Last night, Gidget and I watched a movie on Netflix called “Greater.” Brandon Burlsworth is the Rudy of Arkansas football. He was told by the coaches of Arkansas that he would never play division 1 football. But Brandon walked on and not only made the team but became an All American and was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts.
It was a movie that was all about perseverance. It reminds me of the Scripture from Hebrews 10:23 that says,
“Without wavering, let us hold tightly to the hope We say we have For God can be trusted to keep His promise.
Perseverance is a 12 letter word that God often uses to teach us what it means to walk by faith. God seems to reward perseverance.
o Remember Abraham waited 25 years before God fulfilled His promise and gave him a son.
o It took Noah well over a 100 years to build an Ark.
o How many years did it take Joseph before God fulfilled his dream?
Whatever you face today, know that today is not the day to quit on God. Ask God to help you when you feel like you are losing your momentum. Keep your hope by not looking at your situation but keep looking at your God.
