Pastor Lee and Gidget AtheyThe Bold Leap of Faith

For those who love sports this has been a very difficult time for us. A few days ago, I found myself watching lawn mower racing. Yes, it is a sport! Men riding around a dirt track on the riding lawn mowers going 40 to 45 miles an hour. The Bold Leap of Faith

And when that got over ESPN showed the 2019 Death Diving World Championship Freestyle from Norway. Where every day people jump off a high dive - totally free to do whatever they like. At one point a 13 year old boy was winning the competition.

Say what you will, you got to admire their willingness to take a leap of faith. Sometimes following God requires us to take a leap of faith. Listen to what God tells us about Abraham.

Hebrews 11:8-10

8 It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. 9 And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith—for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise. 10 Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God.

At some point, we are going to be asked to take a leap of faith and return back to life as it was before. We are going to go out to eat again, go get our hair done again, and return to God’s house to worship again.

It will be a leap of faith as we trust God as we did before the stay at home orders were given to watch over us and protect us as we engage in a lost world in need of Jesus.

Let us pray!

Blessings,

Pastor Lee & Gidget Athey
