Pastor Lee and Gidget Athey Alone
Alone
I was talking to a church member and they said, “Pastor it seems like we have been out of church for a year now.” It has only been two weeks but it seems like a long time for sure. I sure miss my friends at church and I miss my friends at work and other places. The longer this goes on the more we miss them and if we are not careful we can feel all alone.

And our enemy doesn’t help, he loves to try and tell us we are all alone. But that is a lie. We have friends and family that all we have to do is pick up the phone and call and after a good conversation we are refreshed.

But the big reason, why we are not alone is that God is with us. Let me read you a time when Paul was all alone or was He?

2 Timothy 4:16-17

“The first time I was brought before the judge, no one came with me. Everyone abandoned me. May it not be counted against them. But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength so that I might preach the Good News in its entirety for all the Gentiles to hear. And he rescued me from certain death”.

I love Paul’s testimony. In a time where he was left all alone, he discovered God was there and not only there but empowered him to preach the Good News.

The same God that was with Paul is with you and me. In Matthew 28:20 Jesus said,

“I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Remember this, “When you are lonely, look for God’s presence. He is there. He is always with you and you are never really alone.

Let us pray!

Blessings,
